McKesson Connect ordering platform
The ordering platform for McKesson U.S. Pharmaceutical is over a decade old and showing its age in infrastructure and UX. It’s an enormous system with a complex set of rules based on customer types, preferences, and regulations.
The challenge is to improve the purchasing experience without disrupting legacy users’ workflows. It’s also an opportunity to improve the UI and align it more closely with the McKesson brand.
In this multi-year project, I have worked with both the ecommerce team and the IT team. I’ve designed a set of UI patterns to deploy across the multitude of screens, and improvements include the addition of a shopping cart and flexible faceting in the catalog.
